About Us:
The Basin Dining Room is a vibrant coastal restaurant in Mona Vale, known for elevated comfort food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. With a strong local following, we’re proud to offer a dining experience that feels both refined and relaxed.
We’re on the hunt for a General Manager who leads from the front, thrives in a busy service environment, and is ready to help us take things to the next level – especially as we expand our events offering and grow as a hospitality group.
You’ll be working closely with our Head Chef Dan Bell, who spent 13 years at the helm of the iconic Berowra Waters Inn, bringing a wealth of fine-dining expertise and seasonal focus to the kitchen.
Your Role:
You’ll oversee all aspects of the restaurant – from service and team leadership to business operations and events. This is a hands-on role with real influence across the business and room to grow alongside us.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead daily operations, both front and back of house
• Set the tone on the floor and ensure smooth, professional service
• Manage rosters, staffing, inventory and cost control
• Develop and drive our growing events and private dining offerings
• Collaborate with ownership on business growth and strategy
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing standards
You’ll Bring:
• Proven experience in restaurant management or senior FOH leadership
• A confident, proactive leadership style and strong service presence
• Strong understanding of hospitality operations and financials
• Passion or experience in events and guest experience innovation
• Energy, positivity, and a love for great food and wine
